DIY Fabric Baby Gate Free Sewing Pattern

Here’s how to make a fabric baby gate for the bottom of stairs or between doorways.

What you’ll need:

• 2 yards fabric – ideally home decorator weight (to make a 30″ high by 43″ wide fabric baby gate – but measure your own opening and adjust as needed)
• 1 yard batting (to make a 30″ high by 43″ wide fabric baby gate – but measure your own opening and adjust as needed)
• Couple feet of VELCRO® Brand Sew-On Tape or VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back for Fabrics
• Bit of 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon
• 3M Command™ Cord Bundlers – I used 3
