Fabric Dalia FREE Sewing Tutorial

Fabric Dahlia Free sewing Tutorial

This hand-sewn fabric flower is made from a long piece of fabric, stitched with a series of “M-shaped” running stitches. The stitches are all connected on one continuous thread, forming gathers as they are pulled. This gathered strip of fabric is then coiled into a circle and sewn on a piece of felt, forming a fabric dahlia.

What you'll need:

  • 4″ diameter felt circle
  • Spray Starch, if using quilt-weight cotton
  • Hand Sewing Needle
  • Beeswax or Candle
  • Fabric Marking Pen or Chalk
  • Iron
  • Scissors
  • Tape Measure
  • Coordinating Thread
  • 1/6 of a yard of fabric (5″ x Width of Fabric)
