Glimmer is Allison’s last new pattern made with her Honeycrisp fabric line, and she was nervous about it because she very rarely makes a non-block-based quilt. This one is laid out and sewn row by row — you lay out and sew the pieces of each row together to form the stars. It takes a bit of time to lay out, and you need some space, but you save the time of not sewing all the pieces into blocks individually. If you can make an hourglass block, you can make this quilt. It uses fat quarters or yardage, with Bella Solids 200 as the background.

Row-by-row construction is freeing once you try it — you can see the whole quilt come together as you sew, instead of squinting at a block pile and hoping for the best.
