Today I’m going to share a tutorial for a quilted tote bag. This is the third post in a series of tutorials to create a travel set for a mahjong game, but you can adapt the project for many different uses. By changing the measurements, you can sew anything from a giant duffle bag to a tiny coin purse from scraps. At 24 inches long and 9 inches tall, the version Melly demonstrates is perfect for any long, skinny items you want to carry — it could easily be a gym bag, a yoga tote, or a project carrier.

Quilted totes look so much more polished than plain ones, and the quilting actually gives the bag structure so you skip half the interfacing fuss.
