40+ Free Sewing Scissors Pouch Patterns: Protect You & Your Investment

sewing scissors pouch patterns

Earlier this year, I posted a pattern for a sewing scissors pouch which was very popular.  Often, when I design something, I like to see what else is out there to see if I can find ways to make improvements.  Sometimes I share the lists of what I've found with our readers so they can have a look too.

Why Do You Need a Sewing Scissors Pouch?

Sewing scissor pouches are really essential if you want to protect your valuable sewing scissors and frankly, yourself.  If you drop a nice pair of scissors on a hard floor, I can almost guarantee you that they will get damaged.  Please read our article linked below if you want to hear my own sad story about this.

Pouches not only project your scissors but you too.  How often were you told as a child to “not run with scissors.”  Well, as we get older, there's still the unfortunate chance of bumping into someone or something that could cause damage or injury to you, someone, or something else.

Do you want to protect your sewing investment and yourself at the same time?  Well, make yourself a beautiful sewing scissors pouch then.

In one weekend, I made 8 folded, quilted scissor & pin cases for holiday gifts (previous post & pictured here in a model’s hand). Not only were these quick and easy to do, but they were so fun to mix and match scrap fabric pieces! I’ve given 2 of these so far and the recipients — both accomplished Sewists — have loved them. Thank you for offering such sweet ideas!

Hi Mary, which version did you use? The first folded one is not actually free and one of the quilted ones does not come with instructions 🙁
