This is a DIY Carry On Travel Bag to go with your next exciting trip. It can be used as a tote or shoulder bag, there is a slot, you can slide it over the handle. The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 11½″(29㎝) W × 15⅛″(38㎝) H × 6⅜″(16㎝) D.

To make this you will need:

  • Outer layer ( quilting cotton ) – 1yard
    • 2   12¼″ × 15⅞″(31㎝ × 40㎝)
    • 1   40¼″ × 6¾″(102㎝ × 17㎝)
    • 1   11″ × 7⅛″(28㎝ × 18㎝)
    • 1   16¾″ × 15⅞″(42㎝ × 40㎝)
    • 4   1¼″ × 2″(3㎝ × 5㎝)
  • Lining ( quilting cotton ) – 1yard
    • 2   12¼″ × 15⅞″(31㎝ × 40㎝)
    • 1   40¼″ × 6¾″(102㎝ × 17㎝)
    • 1   11″ × 7⅛″(28㎝ × 18㎝)
  • Mesh Fabric
    • 1   12¼″ × 2″(31㎝ × 5㎝)
    • 1   12¼″ × 6⅜″(31㎝ × 16㎝)
    • 1   12¼″ × 8¼″(31㎝ × 21㎝)
  • Interfacing (Mid-weight woven – Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
    • 2   12¼″ × 15⅞″(31㎝ × 40㎝)
    • 1   40¼″ × 6¾″(102㎝ × 17㎝)
    • 1   11″ × 7⅛″(28㎝ × 18㎝)
    • 1   16¾″ × 15⅞″(42㎝ × 40㎝)
  • Zipper
    • 2  10″(25㎝), 2  19¾″(50㎝)
  • 1½″(4㎝) Wide Bias tape – 51⅜″(130㎝)
  • 1 Strip of 1¼″ (3㎝) wide Webbing Strap 70⅜″(178㎝) ~ 78¼″(200㎝)
