Quilted Accordion Pouch FREE Sewing Tutorial

Quilted Accordion Pouch

This unique expandable pouch is based on a vintage silk stockings holder. Yep! But, since most of us are a little low on silk stockings we need to store, its five pockets are also excellent for jewelry, small lingerie items, make-up or other special trinkets.

What you'll need:

  • ½ yard of 44″+ wide quilting weight cotton or similar for the exterior
  • ½ yard of 44″+ wide polyurethane laminate (PUL) or similar for the lining
  • ½ yard of 45”+ low loft batting
  • 4½ yards of ½” (finished width) binding
  • ONE decorative snap and snap setting tools
  • All-purpose thread to match exterior fabric, lining, and binding
  • See-through ruler
  • Fabric pen or pencil
  • Seam gauge
  • Seam ripper
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and mat
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Straight pins and/or clips
  • Small hammer to set snap

Thank you for this tutorial. It’s a great idea for travel and for individual storage of some jewelry that tangles.
Also, unrelated to this– the pattern link to the 123 fabric baskets is having a bad day. Maybe one the New Year’s Resolutions got the better of it, and it went bye bye, or night, night. You pick. LOL It goes to a dead link in Craftsy. I tried looking up 123 fabric baskets and ellisonlane in craftsy. I even went out and tried http://www.ellisonlane.com. Arggghhh!!! So, obviously done with that. LOL
Thank you again for the accordion pouch tutorial, it looks like it will be a lot of fun to make. I will send pics when I get one done.
